Designing a Chair Manufacturing Facility

  • I have designed a Chair Manufacturing Facility using AutoCAD, which is considered "One of the Best Projects" seen in facilities planning at Kennesaw State University. I have created a 40-employee facility that includes 10 offices, 10 racks for receiving, 44 racks for storage, 3 bathrooms, and 76 parking spaces, ensuring that all the necessary requirements are met.

  • To optimize the flow of materials, people, and vehicles within the facility, I used AutoCAD tools to simulate and arrange workstations, storage areas, aisles, corridors, and entrances precisely. I have also incorporated precise room dimensions based on recommended requirements.

  • This project showcases my skills in facilities planning and my ability to use AutoCAD tools to create optimized and functional spaces. It demonstrates my attention to detail, technical skills, and knowledge of best practices in facilities planning.

Bulk Truck Simulation

  • I have designed a simulation in Arena that was labeled an "Undergraduate Research-Level" project. I simulated 12 work elements from a bulk truck loading process using data gathered from a time study.

  • Using Arena, I optimized the work schedule to increase worker utilization by 9% without increasing wait time, ensuring that the loading process was efficient and cost-effective.

  • This project showcases my skills in simulation design and my ability to analyze data and optimize processes to improve efficiency. It demonstrates my proficiency in using Arena and my knowledge of industrial engineering principles.

The Supply Chain Game

  • I have designed and optimized a supply chain that won 1st place in most profit achieved out of 8 groups by over 75%. This project was a testament to my skills in supply chain management and optimization.

  • As a team member, I contributed to the project by utilizing demand forecasting techniques such as exponential smoothing with trend to accurately predict demand. I also managed inventory and production control, ensuring that products were available when needed while minimizing waste and excess inventory.

  • To optimize the supply chain, I developed an Excel model to simulate supply network design, allowing me to identify bottlenecks, optimize transportation routes, and minimize costs. The combination of these techniques allowed our team to achieve exceptional results, outpacing the competition by a significant margin.

Network Optimization in the Global Steel Industry

  • I have optimized a supply chain network in the steel industry at Kennesaw State University, which was recognized as the best network optimization project for the spring 2022 semester. I utilized network optimization tools to identify the minimized cost and time for transporting steel globally.

  • To showcase the findings of the network optimization models, I created network maps that visually demonstrated the results of the linear programming models. This allowed stakeholders to easily understand the optimized supply chain network and the resulting cost savings.
